There is a strong tradition of music in Okinawa ranging from classical, folk music and there is also a strong presence in the Japanese pop music scene. The major, underlying theme of music originating in Okinawa is enjoyment and this is evident in Eisaa. Eisaa is a choreographed drum performance which combines the traditional Okinawan folk music played on the sanshin, unique vocals and a drumbeat which accompanies very defined movements. |
